Hi,

I am looking at the column being supported from a drilled pier with a cantilever slab. I am planning to detail the main rebars as shown. Any additional detailing requirements other than what I have shown. Stirrups etc.. are not shown on the detail and will be added.

At the end of that cantilever of the cap, I'd have a hook for that top bar. (Whether it needed it or not.) In fact, I'd probably have it for all of them.

I'd also be careful as to what the rotation/displacement of the pier will do to the forces in that column. (At least account for it. You probably already know that but just thought I'd mention it anyway.)

Thanks. Yeah I would rather hook all the bars

I'd be seeking to detail the primary reinforcement like this.

This version is more exotic but probably also more constructible. It will often require that you drop your cap top steel lower than you might otherwise place it in order get the detailing squared away.
