Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am working on the simulation of sintering processes.
I built up a simulation considering time and temperature dependent plastic displacement.
I work with the materials bronze and diamond.
I would like to consider diffusion processes to optimize the simulation.
Is it possible to consider the diffusion process in abaqus cae?
Does abaqus enable to consider the diffusion influence on the displacement or material flow of the bronze?

So far I just find the possiblity to model concentration gradients due to diffusion without the combination of mechanical loads.

Best regards and thanks in advance

Yes, it should be possible to do it in Abaqus but you may have to use subroutines for that. There are some scientific articles and theses that may be useful for you. For example "Numerical simulation of solid-state sintering of metal powder compact dominated by grain boundary diffusion" by R. Zhang.
