Hi all
I have a question regarding SAP2000 that requires an explanation about what I want to do. A collegue has made an evaluation of the software and run in to a unexpected problem.
Imagine that you have a continouos beam with several live loads. The result will be in the form of max/min moment, max/min shear, max/min torsion etc.
I'm now told that the software gives only the max/min values. What I want is max moment with corresponding shear and torsion. Then the same 3 values for min moment. THEN I want max shear with corresponding moment and torsion. A total of 36 values instead of 6. I'm told that this can't be done for other loads than moving loads. Is this true?
If so, do you really design for max moment together with max shear etc?
A natural follow up question is, can I export the loadcase results to for example Excel, do the combinations and sent the results back to SAP? Otherwise I have to use Excel to create the diagrams as well. Providing ofcourse that I will use SAP at all.
Grateful for any input.
