There is a lot of talk of older and newer commands. Is there a list somewhere of what commands are better to use then others for example section curves or intersection curves?

NX 7.5.5.4
TC 8.3.2

There is no such thing as "what commands are better to use then others" since every function has pros and cons, strengths and weaknesses. You have to look at what you're doing and what sort of result you're looking for. Granted, there are cases where an older function is replaced with something new and different, but even then, an older function might be retained due to it being able to handle some special case that was beyond the scope of the new function, although we try to avoid those situations as they can cause other problems. You really need to explore all the functionality, giving each function a try, read the documentation, takes some classes, find someone who has used NX longer than you and ask them, etc. But in order to make a call about any set of similar functions you'll need to be very specific as to what exactly it is that you're attempting to do and what sort of result are you looking for. This last item might include whether you need Associative relationships maintained or if something needs to be edited parametrically or not, etc.

Anyway, if you had something specific in mind, please provide more details, as suggested above.
