Comments property not showing when opening a file

When I open a SW file, my dialog box has a column for the component's "Comments" property, which can be very useful in looking for a file if the file name is non-descriptive. But for some reason, only some parts show the comment there (at least the first line). other files show blank there (even though they have comments in their properties.
Does anyone know why these files don't show their comments?
