Hello,
I am currently working on a large hotel…
What is the correct way of setting the flow rate on double regulating valves (DRV) on the return legs of domestic hot water pipework?
The image (click link above) shows the location of each DRV – There is one on the return of each room and then another on the main riser return before it connects back into the main domestic return circuit.
I believe the aim is to achieve just enough flow rate, to combat heat loss, in order to keep a minimum of 55 degrees circulating. If someone was able to provide a worked example it would help a lot. I have CIBSE guide C and G to hand.
(I realise that the automatic thermostatic throttle valves would have been an easier choice)
Thanks,
