Communication Protocols

I am not that much familiar with communication protocols. Can anyone suggest me some good reference so that I can study it from the Substation Communincation stand point.

. DNP & MODBUS are two very common protocols for use in electrical substations. These sites have lots of data on the protocols - usage, implementation, products, etc.
