I repeat the question :

The Communication Tower ( 80 ft) must be grounded and protected from the lightning. Is it the same as for the building ? What about 230 kV transmission line passing close to the tower. How far it can be ?
Tnank you for the help. Any text on the internet ?

Motorola has a telecommunication site standard called R56. It's had to find. Also, checkout Polyphaser's web site or call them. Checkout the Tech Info tab.

Grounding is a must. There are different theories on grrounding. Lookup Ufer grounding (foundation) and halo grounds (insidee shelters).
I have to run if I have time I come back to add more.
