I need to check concentricity in several mechanical seal installations ranging from 65mm to 90mm shaft diameter. Shaft is non-magnetic 300 series stainless steel. I'm looking for a compact shaft mount for a lever ("Last Word") indicator to measure the concentricity between the shaft and the seal housing. The indicator holding device needs to mount and dismount quickly from the side of the shaft.

I've investigated the traditional chain-mount and they are too bulky for this enclosure.

My best concept is a hinged clamp collar with a short arm or two that hold the indicator. It would require a clamp for each shaft size which is not a big deal. These will probably be special order since the suppliers (Ruland, Stafford, Misumi, Dayton) all stop at 50mm in their hinged lines.

I can improvise but if there is a mature system out there I'd rather purchase and move on to other matters.

Thanks, David
