Currently trying to finding a comparable casting alloy to replace a machined part made from 6061-T6. Part is complicated enough that die casting would be preferred to reduce machinabilty and keep tolerances. Need to find something that can come close to the yield strength of 40 ksi that has a relatively high elongation %. Already been directed to the 3xx alloys but havent found anything close. Any suggestions?

Any alloy with strength and elongation nearing that of 6061 is going to be extremely difficult if not impossible to diecast. These alloys flow very poorly leading to non-fill and regain strength at higher temperatures leading to cracking and other issues.
6061 itself can be cast in permanent mold but would require post machining on most surfaces as it requires very generous drafts.

You have to be careful about switching any wrought aluminum part to a die casting, as the published mechanical properties will mislead you. AA gives guaranteed minimum UTS and TYS for the wrought alloys, but the published properties for aluminum die castings are "typical values" derived from cast tensile coupons.
