Hi all.
Is it possible to compare two parts or products and get a visual representation of the change in geometry?
Maybe some macros or ready-made solutions?
There is no access to DMU space analysis.
I looked into the topic, but it is already closed:

By @ferdo: "I've done something like this for few hundreds of harnesses in batch mode....without DMU licenses you can save each product as a 3dxml file, each one with their separate colors, then insert those files in a product to be compared."
Maybe there are some videos using the batch method?

There is a good reason for this, since it helps prevent accidentally overwriting one part file with another.

I suggest to use TeamCenter or other PLM software to manage revisions and changes. I know it's costly and requires higher level reorganization but without DMU or PLM your only option is manually converting one version to neutral format or allcatpart (in case of products) then color the solids to actually see where's the difference. I wouldn't bother with macros or stuff as there's little in return for the investment.

Well, in my case, I had few hundreds harness to check visual.. So, I did a macro to change first the color for all CATProduct, then save in 3dxml format then close without save...for all of them in a first version. Then I did the same thing for the second version. This was done in batch mode because it is faster, I'm sure you can find references about batch mode even here in forum or on Internet.
Inserting versions in CATProduct to compare can be also automated, I used list in Excel also with macro in CATIA. It was worth doing those macros because it was a repetitive task, otherwise you have to really think if is the case...
Unfortunately, I don't have a video for this...what I can say is that you have now something more precise and well done in 3DEXPERIENCE, in both web browser or in native apps.

Fernando
