Comparison between Diesel and LPG Boilers

We are in the state of selecting either a light oil Diesel Fired Boiler or an LPG gas fired Boiler.
Can any one advise me which is better giving comparison in terms of life cycle cost Parameters including Intial costs,Performance and efficiency , Maintenance cost,fuel Price, Spare parts and any other considerable factor of importance.

Gas is a cleaner fuel, and combustion eficiencies are higher than combustion efficiencies in oil burners, where efficiency depends on degree of atomisation and pressure of combustion air to atomise the oil. Calorific values are more or less similar for the two fuels. Thus, if costs are same and gas is easily available at Site, going for gas is a better option.

Your question is too general....

It seems as if you are asking an "everything you know about" question and assigning you work to others.

I suggest that you talk with boiler vendor's reps about the pro's and con's of the two fuels.

Boilers can be purchased that have two fuel capability. most commonly natural gas and No.2 fuel oil.)

Another factor that favors natural gas is the periodic internal "washdown that" must occur with boilers that burn fuel oil.

If you live in an area of the world where the quality of the fuel oil may vary considerably ( watch out for excess Vanadium !!)you may want to favor natural gas.
