I have the priviledge of working with some .igs files today. The usual cleanup process is to add any missing surfaces and sew everything together. However, in these files there are several 'corner' blends that are reversed. I don't mean that simply the surface normal is reversed but rather where I should have a small section of a spherical surface, I have the entire sphere except for the small section I need. I could really use a tool like the 'complement arc' command in the 'edit curve' dialog except for use on spheres instead of arcs.
The first file I ran into had radial symmetry so I only had to recreate 2 surfaces and rotate them around as needed. I'm not so lucky in the current file. It is not overly difficult to recreate the surfaces I need, but is rather tedious. Anybody have a neat quick solution?
ps I'm still stuck on NX2 and I don't know the originating CAD/translator combo, chances are slim to none that I will get any better files from the source.
