Has anyone had the problem when a component or components will not update in an assembly even after using the 'Tools-->Update-->Update for External Change' and a 'Tools-->Update-->Interpart Update-->Update All'...then doing a save all? I then reopen the assembly and the same component or components begin to update again during the file-->open. Im using NX8

Do you have any form of linked/ copied data in the assembly?
I.e "wave linked bodies" or "Promotions" etc ?
If not, the described behavior should be more or less impossible.
If you change the piece part in the session, the assembly should display the same data since there is no copy in the assembly, only a "display the detail here object".

Do you run in a managed environment ( Teamcenter or similar system) or not ?
- If not, might the component file be a "wildcat copy" that NX finds and loads due to the Load Options ?

Yes...I do have wave linked data in the assembly.

I'm no sure what you mean by this...
"If you change the piece part in the session, the assembly should display the same data since there is no copy in the assembly, only a "display the detail here object"."...or "wild cat copy"

I am not running Teamcenter...Just Native NX

GTAC has turned this into a PR

HI,

1. Open your assembly by keeping your assembly load option as "Structure only" and then select complete assembly..

As per my knowledge:
There may be these chances:
a) may be changes are not included in next level reference set. (if you are managing with reference sets)
b) may be the piece part is not there in the same directory of your assembly.

Thanks & Regards,
Sam
