Though I have designed reinforced concrete columns and some steel columns in the past, am relatively new to composite column design.Currently getting familiar with Euro code(EC4) provisions.Have the following questions:
.Why is that the effect of long term loading is taken into account only if the eccentricities of loading is less than twice the cross section dimension. Why not for higher eccentricities?
.What is the physical significance of the non dimensionless slenderness expressed as a ratio of square root of the plastic resistance of the composite cross section to compression to the elastic critical buckling load.
.What is the difference between elastic critical buckling load(Ncr) and buckling resistance of the column (N).
.Which one will be greater the buckling resistance of the column or the elastic critical buckling load?
