Dear all,
For a model of the human spine I am trying to model the intervertebral disc. To include the behaviour of the fibers in this disc, I make use of a composite solid section. The reinforcing fiber material is sandwiched in between two layers of the surrounding substance. The following question arises:
How does Abaqus treat composite solids? Is it still treated as one element, and does abaqus calculate the combined material properties? Or is each layer a separate element?
I was not able to deduce this from the manual or forums.
Kind regards,
RK
