I currently do PV calcs by hand. I am looking at purchasing a program to do this, but am wondering which is the best? This may be a biased place to ask, considering it is a compress forum.....but opinions are requested. I have reviewed calcs by both PV Elite and Compress, but have not used either.

There are a number of threads with similar discussions, both in this forum and in the ASME Code and Pressure Vessel forums. Just do a search for them.

The software packages are generally equal so I would choose the one that is the cheapest to buy and then to maintain. Once you commit to one package you're stuck with whatever fees they want to charge for the annual maintenance. The cost of these packages can be very significant to small companies so it makes our life quite difficult if you don't have enough business to justify it. Shop for the best deal for both initial and maintenance costs.
