How many grout cubes (from repair grout) must be tested at 28 days to constitute a valid compression test? For concrete cylinders, it is 2 cylinders. What is the corresponding number of cubes?

Also are there any other tests that are routinely done on parking structure pumped repair grouts?

ASTM C1019 requires 3 specimens at each age specified for testing.

And minor nit, but concrete cylinders it depends on the size of the cylinders and the code you're using. 318-05 I think it was 2 cylinders regardless of size. For 318-08 and 318-11 you need 2 if using 6x12 cylinders and 3 if using 4x8 cylinders. Don't know if they changed that for 318-14 or not.

I think you should specify the country or code you are referring to. I had never heard that two concrete cylinders were sufficient. I guess it all depends on the country and specific rules for your country.

BeFEA - ajk1 is talking about a singular compression test....not a test regimen.

So "one" compression test = the average strength of two 6x12 cylinders by definition in ACI.

I'm not sure whether we've addressed your 2nd question yet, ajk1, regarding other typical pumped repair grouts on parking structures.

I don't honestly know of any other specific tests, but if you're still in the design stage on your project, I recommend adding clear notes that grout installation must follow all recommendations of the grout manufacturer. Also, add requirement that the onsite inspector must continuously inspect the onsite grout mixing. With any onsite-mix product, your lack of control theoretically goes down, but continuous monitoring by the inspector can help ensure proper mixing and construction.

Thanks everyone for the comments. The country is Canada. I will check what CSA A23.1/A23.2 says. I suppose I should have done that before posting the question. Again, thanks for the comments.
