Compression strength of posterboard best type to use

I have 2 types of poster board that are both 1/32 inch thick shiny white on one side and is 2 ply and easy to tear by hand. The other is harder to tear by hand not sure how many plys. Tear test by hand includes with or against the grain. Would the poster board sheet thats harder to tear by hand have more compression and tension strength? It will be used in sheeting foam wings.
