i have a case of installing new booster compression station on existing pipeline (centifugal compressor gas turbine).
the pieline lenghth downstream comp. is 230km and is delivered to gas complex .
is the back pressure control valve is essential the as designer says that discharge compressore back pressure control valve is not recommended .

no, a back pressure valve is not needed. The vendor should also have a speed control on the unit, both turbine and compressor. Then at most you'll need an anti-surgr recycle system.
