Hello,
We have a plant with a 3-stage intercooled reciprocating compressor operating with a discharge bypass valve to suction. Upstream pressure is around atmospheric, downstream is 24 barg. The compressor runs on a magnetic drive.
We have been having numerous complressor trips by low speed (at least this is what the alarm says). There is an independent alarm fot the coupling failure, but it doesn't go off (although it once did, so this proves it is working).
I would like to know, in your experience, what are the most likely causes for the compressor trips.
Thanks
