I am a mechanical engineer starting a PhD in robotics. A good portion of the program requires mechanical design, which I am comfortable handling. The other portion is embedded code, which I am less experienced with. I didn't see a forum on this site that addresses this (unless I missed it?) so was wondering if others have a suggested place to ask questions in this area. Currently, I'd like to know best practices for handling scripts that are used as functions in various codes but I want to make a slight change to them (mainly adjusting input/output arguments). In ME the analogy is editing a part file used in various assemblies, but I know the process for handling that. In terms of programming I'm not sure. So having a place to ask questions similar to eng-tips would be super helpful.

Check out the sister site, Tek-Tips. They may have programming info for you. The site is more computer and computer apps oriented. The link is at the top of this page.
