Concrete block foundation

How do you determine the rebar necessary for a concrete block foundation (5'x5'x5') supporting a tank weighing 6.5 kip? Thanks.

I answered your post in the foundation section before I saw this post. I assume from this post that you are talking about a CMU foundation wall to support the load.

Poor terminology; This foundation is probably not made with CMU's,(Concrete Masonry Units or concrete blocks). A rectangular footing with dimensions of 5' x 5' x 5' cast in place with concrete probably can be plain or unreinforced concrete design. See ACI 318-08, Chapter 22.
