Concrete Column Repair 1

What is the best way to repair the concrete column in the photo.
The building age is around 45 years old

Shore up the building.
Take the pen out of the crack.
Figure out why the column failed. It looks like a patch to the column failed. Why did it fail in the first place?
Knock out the column.
Build in a new better column.
Take out the shores.
 


Can i use ordinary concrete or it is necessarily to use micro-concrete?

You need to REPLACE the column. You can use regular concrete of appropriate mix design and strength.
 
Mahabiby...also make sure the column is properly sized and reinforced for the loads.
 
Ron and JC are on the mark...Interesting that the piping is as intact as it is for the damage to the column. What kind of fire?

Hi Dik this is another case not the one subjected to fire
 
ditto what JC & Ron said. One thing to keep in mind, if you're not familiar with concrete repairs, don't be surprised if you have to remove more than anticipated. Sometimes, when the chipping starts, it goes on and on and on. Be alert.
