Hi all! There is an optional feature in Abaqus to define a concrete failure point by going to 'edit keywords' and adding '*concrete failure' for concrete damage plasticity model. Can anyone please explain it to me what will happen if this concrete failure point is added and what if it's not added? I know it is also essential to trigger element deletion but looks like it's inclusion is changing the output results not only the visualization.

This feature is described in the documentation chapter Materials --> Inelastic Mechanical Properties --> Concrete --> Concrete Damaged Plasticity (chapter "Defining Material Failure Criteria in Abaqus/Explicit"). Check it first.

Thank you but I couldn't locate chapter 'Defining Material Failure Criteria in Abaqus/Explicit". Can you please copy the link in the comment?

Current Abaqus documentation requires an account on the Dassault Systemes website. You won't find it in older versions of the documentation because this feature was added in Abaqus 2019.
