Hi
A concrete foundation to be designed in a brine environment. Although the brine solution is pumped out of the pit, there is always some brine that comes into contact before laying the foundation.

Question:
1. is there any way or material that can laid (like a mattress on the floor) to prevent brine ingression before laying foundation?
2. What is the best way to protect concrete from brine ingression after laying the foundation.

Thanks.

Dense concrete and lithium or nitrite admixture.

Sorry...that should be nitrates, not nitrites. Lithium, sodium and calcium nitrates can be used to mitigate corrosion. Most info is available on sodium nitrate admixture.
