Does anyone have, or know where I can find, a good, "middle of the road" concrete design for sidewalks?

Looking for a 3,500 to 4,000 psi mix design.

Thanks.

Do you not have Google in WV??? This type of query is pretty pathetic and reduces the usefullness of Eng Tips

You have three choices....

1. Let a local ready mix company handle it
2. Buy a bunch of bags of Sakrete at Home Depot or Lowe's
3. Look up a DIY mix design on the internet....easy to do.

So you know the mix. Then comes how much water to use. The more water, the lower the strength. Look for a reference on W/c ratio.

OK, an easy answer, use 6 bags per cubic yard and you can't go wrong. 5 will do it, but ya gotta be careful.

More: I typically use this mix. 1, 2, 4 cement, sand, gravel
