Hi all
I´m reviewing a building where we have 2 stories of concrete podium and 4 stories of ligth gage steel framing. The floor plan is like a C whith an elevator and stairs shafts in both sides.
I have a couple of questions:
1. Is it possible for the steel framing to be the main LFRS?
2. If I use the elevator shaft as the main LFRS, then is it possible to detail a proper collector for shear transfer in a concrete and steel deck cast in place floor?
Whe have done similar projects but using a concrete frame joining the shafts, generating something like a "Z" and using the steel framing just as load bearing. But I think there´s much more for the steel framing.
Thanks,
