I have an application where I am expoxy bolting a plate to an existing concrete beam. On this plate I will be welding a shear tab to carry a beam reaction. Hilti provides a nice little program for the design of the expoxy anchors; however, I'm not so sure about how it is handling (if at all) checks on the plate being bolted to the wall. It appears that it may be treating the plate as rigid. Can anyone point me to some literature that discusses the design considerations of the plate being bolted to the beam? I know I shoud check for things such as shear tear out and the like, but I was more concerned with the proper assumptions of the compressive force distribution at the bottom of the plate. In the past, I have seen designs that assume a triangular distribution from the mid point of the plate. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
