Hi Everyone,
New EIT here and I am looking to get more adept at cantilever retaining wall designs as these pop up from time to time in my small office. I have a handle on the stability checks for the wall as a whole, sliding and overturning, but I am not as well-versed in the reinforcement detailing.
Does anyone have any suggestions for some learning material (texts, sites, catalogues of common reinforcement details etc.) which show how to verify shear and moment resistance of retaining walls via the Canadian Code? I work almost exclusively in wood and steel so I really need to hit the books when it comes to concrete design.
I found this thread 'Retaining Wall - Flexural Reinforcement from Stem Into Footing' which has been very helpful but stops short of Vr and Mr calcs.
Thanks!
