Concrete Tank Leaks

What is the best way to repair and stop the leaks of by - products of a waste water concrete tanks. The leaks are small and has a small cracks . Thanks for the Help.

1. Provide a picture and dimensions.
2. Provide a sketch and dimensions.
3. Provide dimensions of the tank wall and a sketch and a picture of the inside and outside.

Are these leaks happening to a tank that is in service with wastewater coming through the cracks or are they leaks found during the initial leak testing of the tank?

the waste water tank is in service. thank you for the help.

Unfortunately the cracks are highly contaminated with effluent. That makes bonding of any type of injection material questionable. This will be difficult to correct without taking the tank out of service and providing a proper repair from the inside of the tank.

Could he
(1) empty the tank (to eliminate continued water pressure on the wall)
(2) sandblast the outside of the tank
(3) apply a sealant to the outside to the cleaned concrete (to stop flow after it has gotten through the old wall), then wrap the tank with fiberglass to reinforce the old walls
(4) then wrap the outside wall with tension cables to prevent the walls from structurally failing?

That is, use the exterior sealant and fiberglass to prevent seepage through, and use the outside fiberglass and cables to prevent wall failure against the static pressure?

Does the tank have secondary containment? It would buy you some time to implement the repairs. Does your state require you to report the leakage? If so, don't delay reporting the problem.

If it is a leak form the inside, i would think the only thing you can do, for longevity, is to repair from the inside? I have never dealt with WWT but clean water tanks that have small hairline leaks we have repaired from the inside with quick plug. May be worth talking to a manuf. but Ron brought up very important details
