Hello,

Could someone help me find some documentation about difference between Deformable and Rigid type of Connection Region, how to implement, in which situation, for what type of analysis etc. I try to find it in Femap and Nastran documentation, but i failed.

Thank in advance,

Grozozo.

Deformable - Master node motion is dependent or average of the motion of slave nodes connected for connection. (RBE3)
Rigid- Slave node motion is dependent on master node motion and cannot move freely as in deformable connection. (RBE2)

Search "deformable and rigid connection types in Ansys", you will get plenty of information. The behavior of these connections is almost same in every FEA software.

Search RBE3 vs RBE2 and check the first result in Google which is for Nastran. All results are helpful to decide which is used when.
