When I open a part I get this error message...

"1 error found in config file. Do you want to apply?"

If I click yes it seemes to open the file fine. It alsoo writes a cfgerror.txt file containing the following...

"Line 5: Unknown keyword NOTES."

I've searched my config files and haven't been able to find the word NOTES anywhere.

Does anyone have any idea what this might be?

Thanx

Are you sure it's reading the config you are searching?
It will read the one in the startup (bin) directory if there is one.
Using NT and creating a shortcut to the desktop will allow you to read one in a working directory.

One more thing...
If you load the config after you start a model or dwg does it give the same error?

Also what release are you running?

I searched my entire drive to find extra config.pro files that I didn't intentionally have. None found. (none at all in the load_point dir.)

I only have 1 config.pro file in the starting directory.

When I open and apply the desired config.pro file I get no errors.

I'm running 2001 with Windows 2000.

Hi Scubadude,

Did you reinstall ProE recently? I had to and install an older version of ProE by mistake, and I had a similar issue. To fix it just get the latest version of ProE that you have and install.

Another interesting tid bit...

I had been working from home using a VPN connection (thus using my same FlexLM server) and the files I started from home didn't seem to have the problem. When I started using files from the office, the problem seemed to spread to the files I had originally started at home.

Sounds pretty virus-like.

I will try the re-install and see where that gets me.
