Configurations often do not come in as chosen.

I have several simple bolts that have configurations for the length. Often (but not all the time) when I insert for instance a M8 X 25 configuration it may come in as a M8 X 35. When I check the properties the use named configuration is checked. I simply have to reselect the config I need and it will correct itself. Is there some global setting for an assy that over rides my selection?

When inserting a TB part and you reuse a pre-existing config you must still type in the length. This away the DB knows to use the pre-existing configuration. Otherwise there is no way to override this function.

This is not a tool box part, I created my own parts to get away from the problem of "large TB fasteners showing up".

In that case, it's going to depend on what configuration was saved. That config will always be dropped into the assembly. There is no way to control which configuration.

You can open the part first and in the open menu you can select which configuration you want to use. Then you can drop that part into your assembly, but this takes up extra procedures. you might as well just do it the way you are now.

When inserting a component, the "Open" window has a Configuration selection box. Make sure the config you want is highlighted before clicking Open.

This is the problem, I select the config I want (it is highlighted), and the length comes in wrong usually when I check the properties the use last save config is checked, but I am trying to use a named config. Once I change it it does resize as requested.

Then you have to check "Use named config" each time you insert your part.

Of course when I add more then one part into my assemblies and check the properties of that parts Config - "Use Named config" is already highlighted.
