Hi All,

I am about to conformal coat some boards. But these boards need to be pre-assembled even before the coat can be applied. So we now have passivated stainless steel and alodined aluminium too. Our electronics dep use IPC-A-610 section 10.8 conformal coating standards (acrylic coat). I am just curious to know would there be any reactions when sprayed over the assembly?(over the years?) I know that conformal coat on alkali and alkali earth metals should be avoided. Any bad experiences/advices anyone had/have with what I am trying to achieve? Thanks in advance!

V.

While I haven't worked on that particular application, solventborne acrylics in general should not cause corrosion issues with passivated stainless or alodined aluminum.

Can you link to a copy of the product data sheet and safety data sheet?
