I have used Abaqus earlier, and was generally satisfied with this software.

Is this software now called Simulia Abaqus?

Question number two: Is it possible to do analysis in Catia, or does it requier an additional package like Simulation in SolidWorks?

Thanks...

Yes Abaqus is now a part of the Simulia brand in the Dassault PLM portfolio

No additional package needed for analysis in Catia but you need licenses, there are different packages for different purposes but there are also Abaqus for Catia that will use the Abaqus solver and not the built in Catia. If I'm not misstaken all analysis will be a part of the simulia brand with V6 and not like with V5 where it differs which solver it uses
