hi.....

I have this shaft fixed at one end and free at other end. I wanted to see the deflection of free end due to gravity. I am using SI system library for material (N/m2) (E= 2.1 x 10^11 , density= 7833) and applying gravity of 9.8 m/s2. but the deflection and stresses are coming very high. I suppose this is due the uncertainty of units. and also the change in position of cg doesn't make any change in result why so??

Pls if some one can suggest something

Hi
Since you don't givwe any results t is hard to know what you mean when you say "high". But since you are working with SI base units the stresses will b in Pa (Pascal) and the deflections will be in meters. I assume that you have modelled the shaft in meters.
