I know this forum is related to NASTRAN (which I use as solver) but my problem is more related to Hypermesh.I have an extrude element of a rectangular shape (1.2 in x 40 in). One of the long edges has a bulb for out-of -plane reinforcement. I was told to model the rectangle as a 2D and the bulb as a CBAR. The problem is that I can't connect the relative elements and I start thinking it's not possible.
Any idea?

I`m not a Hypermesh user but isn`t Hypermesh can merge coincident nodes?
CBAR elements have all six stiffness components. If CBAR and Shell elements share the same nodes then they work together.

Thank you your answers, I downloaded the file but Hypermesh does not completely import it for a problem with cards. I ended up creating as many CBARS as are the element of the shell and it worked. I just wondered if there was a faster method in case the components are super fine meshes. Thank you
