Dear collages,

I'm performing a model of a bolted connection, and I want to know if you could assist to me. I send to you in attach the model where the bolt has been modeled as a wire (beam) and the plate as a shell, and I want to connect the hole of the shell with the bolt, to transmit bending forces.

Thank you very much,

Juan José

Dear collages,

I have solved the problem with a Coupling constraint between the upper point of the bolt and the line of the hole. Do you think it is good, or is there a better option? Thank you very much.

I send the last model I have performed.

Regards,

Juan José

Dear collages,

I have modified the boundary conditions in the bolt (U3=UR1=UR2=0), due to the simmetry of the model. But with these boundary conditions I have an error and the calculation is aborted (when I impose that every dof=0, the calculation is submited). Please, could you tell to me the reason. Thank you very much.

Regards,

Juan José

A little bit late, but..
Try to fix rotation along bolt axis on single point on bolt.
