I need to connect a vent line from a dosing skid to the storage tank vent. the tank vent is a DN80 GRP goose neck. How do I cut the pipe and connect a PVC-U line to the GRP goose neck. See the photos attached.

What is the best way of adding snap shots into this thread?

You can add pictures through the services of There is a link below to upload your picture to them. If it exists somewhere on the interwebz you can use the {img} tag (use square brackets instead of curly brackets).

I'm going to assume that the GRP you are talking about is stick pipe threaded to each other with o-rings. To add a connection you have to use a repair tee. This is a basket full of stuff that includes two pup joints, a tee, and a pair of threaded flanges that allow the different direction threads to be made up. Sometimes the space gets really tight to make it all up, but it is easier if you uncover about 3 joints of pipe before you start. Much less than that and you will struggle to get the pipe to fit.

Flanges. You can get gre flange connections either wholly in gre or a stub flange which uses a metal flange. Do the same with your pvc pipe. It will weigh quite a bit so you probably need a support of some kind.

Also: There's usually a good reason why everyone does it that way
