Hi all,

I have screw piles with concrete encased steel beams on top as foundations. I need to support a steel post on one of the ground beams. Because wall above is cavity wall with 150mm cavity, post is a tad bit eccentric. Would this detail be fine?

Thanks

If the beam can resist the resulting torsion due to the eccentric load from the column, then I'd say the detail is fine. Otherwise, you'll need to come up with a different solution. Maybe a large steel plate stiffener could be used to provide a load path closer to the beam center.
