Connector contact material

Spec sheets for crimp contacts for electrical connectors usually say that the contacts are some type of plated steel. Does anyone know what a typical steel alloy would be used for crimped contacts?

Spring, maybe 301/302 stainless. Seems to me you would use pre-hardened steel, and 4-slide it. I'm not sure what carbon steel, maybe 1050 or so.

Some are clearly either BeCu/CuNi alloy, some are silver alloy.
