Hallo All.

I'm designing a panel and I'm kinda stuck on a rather simple problem. I'm looking for a special type of connector, not really sure if it exists though.

From the picture, I have some push buttons and LEDs that will be "crimped into Place" and then a Dsub connector that will have pins "Soldered into Place" (This wound work because nun of it fits into the Hood afterwards. and the friction locks are too big).
The idea behind this is you have the option of removing the dsub will all the connections and then removing one specific button or LED without having to de-solder any connection.

I know some PC's have the same type of connection for connecting The power button, HDD LED and reset button.

So my question is: Does anyone know of any type of connector on the market that will be able to achieve this?

Really appreciate any help I can get
Thank you

Look for "AMP Connectors" and/or "Molex connectors", these are specific companies but the terms are usually used almost generically now and a number of competitors will glom onto your Google search results anyway. If you want military grade stuff, Amphenol or Cannon connectors.

You might try a D-sub with push-in (crimp) pins that you can wire to connectors in more suitable locations? You can pop the individual pins out as needed. The gotcha may be that you'll need at least about one inch of wire to be able to get the pin removal tool in place.
