Hello

I have done simple tutorial, pin and disc with interference.
Pin is constrained on the ends, zero load was applied to disc.
It always shows constrain error and mesh problem

Can anybody have a look and tell me what is wrong?

Hello Prym,

The first thing I noticed was that regarding the contact surfaces for the pin the surfaces selected were the non contacting surfaces. That was the first fix.

I was experiencing the same difficulties trying to mesh the part but just accepting the default selections in the AutoGEM dialog box. However, it would be best for this particular application to mesh the volumes seperately. To do this you will need to perform the following steps:

1) From the AutoGEM dialog box choose the drop down selection "Component volumes".
2) Next, select the pin then click the middle mouse button to accept.
3) When the AutoGEM dialog box comes back click the "Create" button on the right. The mesh for the pin only will be created. Click "Ok" on the statistics box and return to the AutoGEM dialog box.
4) Reselect component volumes again by clicking the arrow, but select the ring only this time.
5) After returning to the AutoGEM dialog box click the "create" button and the mesh for the ring will now be created.
6) Click "close" to exit the AutoGEM dialog box. Don't forget to save your mesh so that you can explicity tell Mechanica to use your generated mesh and not try to create a new one.

This should all work now.

Hope this helps.

Hello
I have created about 200000 elements and there is still fatal error showing mesh problem and 'The design study terminated abnormally'
I have done different one before and it works ok except this one
What is the problem?

I know...that particular model is strange. I changed accuracy settings in both ProE and in Mechanica and it still took a long time to generate the mesh.

Try meshing the parts seperate as component volumes. Mesh one part at a time. This worked for me and I was able to generate very few elements and get the simulation to run.

good luck,

Steve

Hello
what is accuracy you are using?
I was trying to mesh it seperetly and also with course and fine mesh and it still shows the same problem.
I have got warning 'Non-coincident surfaces could not be split in Native mode. Source: Geometry' - what is this about?
I will attache that file later?
