Hello,

i know this is a bit of a long shot but i will ask anyway.

i am currently trying to match FEA results from ANSYS with FEA results from ABAQUS in CATIA V5.
I need to understand how to replicate the restraints of ANSYS with ABAQUS. Specifically, i need to replicate the ANSYS constraint "compression only support" in ABAQUS in CATIA.
I have tried to use just the clamp on a split surface of a part and calculated to give similar results (i.e stress pattern etc) to ANSYS but CATIA outputs larger numbers.

if anyone could help me with this i would be very grateful. even if it is to state that the FEA systems are too different to match results

cheers

Are you using Ansys Classic or Workbench? If the later, then there is a "compression only" constraint or something similar. It creates a rigid-flexible contact region. It's been a while since I've used WB. If you're using classis you can just create the contact and get the same effect...more user input will be required that's all.
