Hi All,

I thought I had posted before but it does not seem to be here. If it doea turn up opologies in advance for any duplication.

What I have is a disk to which I want to place at right angles a steel plate (refer attached). So far I have managed to get the steel plate at the correct starting point about which it revolves quite freely. I need to stop the free movement and have it at an angle of 77° off the vertical but cannot get it to stick.

Any ideas - what am I not doing right?

Best Rgds,
Dave R.

Of course an assembly without parts is useless.
This should have been covered in training (actually - just common sense).
An assembly file *.iam is simply a record of hyperlinks to individual part files *.ipt , assembly constraints and a bit more.

I would use assembly constraints representative of the real world assemlby process to place the parts relative to each other.

If you can't figure it out attach the parts here.

Don't forget about using origin planes for constraints.

Hi rollupswx & mcgyvr,

Got it!!

Place the part where you want it, like my assembly shows, then ground it so it does not move. I new it had to be something simple like that but sometimes the fog is too dense, like my brain, to see it.

Thanks again.

Best Rgds,
Dave R.
