With all my best wishes......

If you please i ask about :
1.What is the difference between shell element and solid element? or in other word, if i would have to simulate a simply supported composite beam consisted of steel I section connected to R.C slab, which element prefer to use (shell or solid )to simulate the I steel section?and why?
2.how i can treated with node to node contact 52,and what about the values that must be entered in the real constant(normal stiffness,etc....)
I wish to have answers to my questions.

I think before you can expect any answers to your questions a little work is necessary on your part! Please read the FAQ submitted by Drej and the Ansys manual...it's pretty clear that you haven't done so thus far as your questions are pretty elementary.

Thanks Stringmaker about your comment, indeed i'm reading the ansys help and manual but i'm confused about several problems which i'm asking for,any way thanks about your advice, and i wish if i can get the answers to this,in addition to the thread named(thermal structural analysis of composite beams).

Thank you in advance
