Hi,
I am modeling frictional contact between an elastic half-space and a rigid axisymmetric indenter and the most important parameter is the surface tangential stress distribution.
I define a path along the contact surface and extract two parameters along it:
1. CSHEAR (defined as surface frictional shear stresses)
2. S12 (which is a tangential stress)
I would expect this two quantities to coincide on the surface but this is not the case.
Could somebody explain me why is it so? How does ABQ compute CSHEAR?
Thank’s
Denis
