Hello
I am redesigning shape for head of evolventue shape tooth for special application.
I am trying to do 2D Analysis in MSC.Adams 2003 unfortunately that seems hopeless
I have to shape of toothed wheels imported from AutoCAD. Unfortunately I am established contact (type: Curve to curve) I am selecting one edge on tooth (1st wheel) and next edge on tooth (2nd wheel). Contact dialog box require select DIRECRION(s) for selected before curves!!!!!!!!!! What kind of directions? How can I establish this detail? There is no way to establish this direction in that dialog box……. That seems like next FATAL ERROR in ADAMS 2003.
Anybody did contact (type: curve to curve) before?
Best regards.
Matt

Well, if you work at Polaris, ask Brett.

I haven't used curved contacts, but if you look in the demo top end in ADAMS/Engine I'm pretty sure it'll use them.

Have you checked the MSC forum and knowledge base? Have you looked for tutorials?

Cheers

Hello
I am working on PC-windows hardware. There is no problem.
I have checked before all documentation that I have and as I see this curve to curve contact isn’t nothing different as standard contact between solid to solid.
I have checked Base Knowledge on MSC site. There is no any clue
Greg do you helpful tutorial? I have only for Adams/View and there is only short mention about contact type solid to solid
Best regards
Matt
