Hello,

I am attempting to model the compaction of a brittle particulate with Abaqus in 2D. I am using Explicit due to the high rate dynamic behaviour of my system.

I have modelled fracture with the Brittle Cracking model. Once the two new fracture surfaces have been created, the meshes deform excessively.

Is there a way to specify a node-based contact in a 2D explicit simulation or is there another approach I should be adopting?

Thank you for your kind help. I'm really stuck here :S
